In the evening of 9th November 2009, Nina Ricci brought out the best of Dubai’s riche and fabulous denizens to attend the invite-only runway show featuring their Spring Summer 2010 collection at the Gate Village DIFC, in conjunction with their retail partner Villa Moda.

The boutique was merchandised with the debuting ‘Extract’ capsule collection of Spring Summer 2010. In this star-studded event attended by over 250 of Dubai’s rich and fabulous fashionistas including socialites like Rekha Tourani, Ayesha Depala, Lina Samman and VIP local guests including Mohammed al Habtoor, the Al Ali family, the Serkals and many local Emirati fashion aficionados, the fashion house unveiled the debut collection designed by new Artistic director Peter Copping.

Although Peter Copping could not attend due to a last minute emergency, his clothing more than made up for it. Gently reworking signature codes such as bows, lace, tulle and lingerie-like details, Copping never lost sight of the Nina Ricci woman. Creating a vital and contemporary balance throughout, Copping achieved this via well-crafted fit and considered inventiveness with fabric. Volume was controlled, necklines exquisite and waistlines defined. Noted for his layered and refreshing take on Nina Ricci’s signature codes, Copping delivered measured clothes enhanced with the unexpected twist.

For this special historical moment in Dubai, Nina Ricci studio and collection directors were present together with a whole team of senior executives to support the debut collection.

It was undeniably an exclusive and entertaining affair which most definitely made a mark to define the turning point for Nina Ricci in Dubai.
