Villa Moda is glad to announce that Meher & Riddhima’s SS10 collection was launched in their Dubai multi-brand ladies boutique, located in the Gate Village in DIFC.  Designers Meher Mirchandani and Riddhima Wahbi are the duo that embellish the forefront and essence of their luxury label; Meher & Riddhima.  In the last few years, Meher & Riddhima’s collections have landed in several of Dubai’s trendy retailers carrying forth their growing reputation as designers.  This season, Villa Moda and the duo join together to launch the first of the several elegant SS10 collection events referred to by Ms. Mirchandani and Ms. Whabi as ‘The Expression of Fashion”.

Meher & Riddhima’s SS10 Inspriation:

A fresh and bright color palette offset with the chastity of ivory, a Grecian enthused silhouette and  re-engineered doll detailing aptly illustrates the SS10 collection by Meher and Riddhima – ‘Pearl of the Aegean’.

Inspired by the Greek Ionic Chiton, Meher and Riddhima have used their own version of this drape in flowing chiffons, georgettes and light weight cotton. While the collection consists of long dresses, jalabiyas, tops, frocks and tees, it is characterized by a play on color and movement. Pleats have been replaced with gathers for this collection and the femininity is being accentuated with a subtle play on adolescence. Patterns are cut for straighter silhouettes and the clinched waist has been given emphasis. Shades of pinks, the brightness of orange, fresh cobalt blue, the effervescence of lime and yellow, and the vibrancy of turquoise form the color scheme of ‘Pearl of the Aegean’.

Accessories take prominence in this collection with multi-colored macramé cord motifs and necklaces or belts featuring on most of the garments. Beads and Swarovski crystals embellish the necklaces, belts and hemlines, while some garments feature dancing dolls that have been created with sharp lines of thread detailing and embroidery.

As an extension to the Meher & Riddhima collection, a line of tees has been launched this season. Fun and comfort are taken into consideration while designing this exquisite line of tee shirt.
