LACOSTE unveil its latest Autumn/Winter Collection 2010- 2011 at an exclusive fashion event held at the Palm Garden, Park Hyatt Dubai.
Attended by Michel Lacoste, Chairman of the Board, LACOSTE SA, LACOSTE Tennis Ambassadors, VIP clients and members of the press, the highlight of the event was that the show was telecast on the same day (and nearly at the same time) as the LACOSTE Ready-to-Wear show at the New York Fashion Week at Tent, Bryant Park.
Collection designer Christophe Lemaire opened the telecast show from New York with a special message for Dubai. This was followed by the much anticipated fashion show.
The collection itself proved to be a fresh look at iconic sportswear staples - stretched beyond imagined boundaries and redefined with an explosion of colours, volume and cut.
The elegant Club line struck a healthy balance between comfy casual and sophisticated chic. ‘Volume and oversized proportions are the key words’, explained Lemaire. ‘We really worked on the sleeves for women, while for men it is all about deconstructing and rethinking the jacket’.
LACOSTE players Sam Stosur, Elena Vesnina, Dominka Cibulkova, Vera Dushevina, Yaroslava Shvedova, Timea Bacsinzky, Camille Pin and Selima Sfar and the ex-tennis player and brand ambassador Tatiana Golovin added glamour to the evening with their presence.
In Dubai for the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championship, the players shared their excitement of being in Dubai and participating in the prestigious 2-week tournament that starts today.
LACOSTE is the exclusive outfitter of the Dubai Tennis Championship for the third year in a row, dressing officials, line empires, ball kids and players both on and off the court. The brand will have a commercial booth and a reserved seating in the stadium for press and VIP guests.
“We are proud to continue our partnership with the Dubai Tennis Championship which reinforces LACOSTE’s presence in a strategic market for the brand. This partnership is a further demonstration of LACOSTE’s legacy and attachment to tennis as well as the voluntary policy of our brand in this sport” said Christophe Chenut, CEO of LACOSTE SA.
