In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the renowned British fashion boutique
After four decades of shaping the world of fashion, Browns celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2010. In addition to staging a retrospective exhibit in London’s Soho, showcasing the history of fashion according to Browns, they have collaborated with 40 designers that have helped to form their heritage, to create the exclusive ‘Future Collectables’ project.
Browns approached the key fashion houses to re-issue an archive piece or create a limited edition piece that is iconic to that brand. Each piece includes a special ‘Browns 40th anniversary’ label inside and is produced in numbered editions.
Among the iconic styles featured are Balenciaga’s jacket shape by Nicolas Ghesquière from his AW07 show; Ann Demeulemeester’s military jacket in black wool with antique silver beads; Christopher Kane’s red 'Eva’ dress in stretch bondage fabric from his graduate show in 2007; and a new dress shape by David Koma, incorporating detail from his first MA collection, launched at Browns last year.
The ‘Future Collectables’ capsule collection will be available for sale exclusively in the Middle East - at Ounass at Jumeirah Emirates Towers from 14th April 2010, in a temporary ‘pop up shop’ that will travel throughout 2010 to cities including Berlin, Zurich and Geneva. The collection will also be available throughout the year in all Browns locations in London as well as their online store.
