Etoile “La boutique” VIP clients and media scoured the railings to discern key maritime-inspired looks and became high-end stylists for the day.
Dubai’s society sirens were given the opportunity to turn uber-stylist for the day and, with the guidance of professionals, were invited to tap into this season’s key nautical theme ensuring the models they dressed remained sophisticated yet fashion-focused and on trend.
Guests expertly took on the challenge and, from a selection of covetable pieces, donned the mannequins in the ultimate yacht-bound wardrobes. Beautifully decorated stands, with sea-based motifs and in cool azure-tones enticed the already style savvy invitees to explore the different looks that are necessary when packing for the ultimate, luxurious summer cruise.
The eternal puzzle of what to sport from sunrise to sundown was answered as guests chose chic casual-wear for breakfast, accessorized the looks up for a marina-based lunch, jazzed them up further for sundowners aboard the deck and then transformed them into St Tropez inspired couture queens in show-stopping pieces perfect for a gala dinner aboard a yacht.
Comfortable linens, sexy silks and light cottons were all marked out as being perfect fabrics for the warmer weather months. Navy and blue stripes along with white and cream block colours with the odd red accent were considered to be the most important. Detailing was also considered key by the discerning clientele who gravitated towards pieces with over-sized buttons, chord and rope accents, contemporary cuts and for the evening, lots of sparkle in the form of embroidery and sequins.
This innovative initiative, with Etoile ‘La boutique’s’ consultants engaging the guests in a collaborative exploration of this seasons trends, was a huge creative success with a whole new cruise-control aesthetic being identified. The boutique’s sophisticated clientele illustrated their understanding of the fashion market and highlighted the event as a memorable shopping experience.
