The Oxford English Dictionary defines charisma as a "divinely conferred power or talent; the capacity to inspire followers with devotion and enthusiasm." Charisma may be defined in far simpler terms though. To have charisma is to have the "Wow" factor, that special quality that everyone can see when you walk into a room.
More importantly, everyone has the ability to be charismatic. But to have charisma, you have to truly believe a more charismatic you is possible! How do you achieve this? Here are five great tips to help you find your charismatic self:
- Get excited! Do your goals make you want to jump up and down with excitement? If they don't, they are the wrong goals for you. When you have some free and undisturbed time, take 10 minutes to brainstorm about things you want to do that excite you. Write down anything that comes to mind and keep this list handy.
- Create a new thinking for charisma. Think of a positive line or sentence that you can remember and repeat to yourself throughout the day, one that will boost your confidence and positive energy. For example, you could say, "I'm fabulous and people love me" or "I'm happy and confident in every way." Just remember three rules:
- Make your line personal.
- Repeat it in present tense.
- Repeat it regularly and often throughout the day. You can say it to yourself while you are driving or getting ready for the day!
- Fill in the colors! Make the image of your charismatic self become real in your mind. Try to visualize what you are wearing and driving. What are you saying, and where are you saying it? Research shows that the more a person visualizes their dream, the more likely it can become a reality. So remember to dream, and dream BIG.
- Write it down. Write down the first action you will take! Go for a run in the park, make an appointment with an expert, talk to your boss - whatever. By putting it in your weekly schedule, you commit to achieving it and getting it done!
- Write a love letter to yourself. Imagine looking at yourself – what are you most proud of about yourself? What are the special qualities that make you who you are? Make a list and write all those qualities down.
By following these helpful tips, you will see that you can have charisma too! You just need to remind yourself and visualize your charismatic self often. Once you're on the road to achieving this, you will begin to feel the positive change in your life! |
