Before choosing your wedding makeup style, make sure you take care of your skin by pampering it a month at least in advance of the big day.
Your makeup will only look as good as your skin, so start by scheduling an appointment with a dermatologist to devise the needed regime for your skin care. You will need to have it in best condition by following the suitable cleansing, toning and moisturizing ritual at home everyday with a mild exfoliation once a week. Invest in a great eye cream, day cream and don't forget your sunscreen. Tanning before the wedding is not a great idea as it may cause blemishes, brown spots and dry skin. You want your skin to be glowing, so protect it and book some facial treatments to exfoliate the dead skin layer and give you that sparkle. Start any treatments a month or two in advance and always have a skin patch test for any new approach. Drink 1 to 2 liters of water per day to moisturize your skin inside out. And last, make sure to get 8 hours of uninterrupted beauty sleep every night.
Next, select your makeup style based on your own style personality and the general look you're going for. Have a style in mind before booking the makeup artist and check if the look you're going for works for your features and proportions. Start by researching the different trends and looks and once you find a style that reflects you, communicate it clearly to the makeup artist and listen to his/her professional advice. They will probably be able to guide you to what works for you and what doesn't. Have the rehearsal at least 2 weeks in advance to give you time to experiment and decide.
Your makeup look may vary from romantic to dramatic but keep in mind that you will be looking at your pictures 30 years from now, so don’t go overboard on trends and select a style to emphasize your best features in a timeless style. |
