Your shoes are not an afterthought. As your feet carry you all day, they deserve to have the best support you can afford. Apart from style, quality and comfort are what you should be looking for.
Summer is when your feet will scream for more attention as the heat and humidity rise up. As you cannot sport flip flops on every casual day, you will be relieved to see that some classic casual styles are back in trend and the choice is vast.
Taking a look at when to wear what, let’s start with flip-flops.
Flip-flops, the ultimate summer vacation companion, look best with shorts or linen pants. And guys, they surely look better with tanned legs and a pedicure.
Going one-step up on the casual ladder, sneakers are another summer must have. Classic sneakers in a clean, simple style are the kind of shoes that can be worn with anything casual. You can dress it up with a blazer or keep it laid back with a pair of shorts to beat the summer heat. They reflect a sporty look and a colored version can add zest to neutral colored outfits. They look great with jeans too.
Loafers, the classic casual footwear, are marking its return too. You cannot go wrong with leather or suede, projecting a dressed up casual version. They spell summer refinement and can look elegant, depending on how you wear them. The general rule is to go without socks, if you’re wearing them with shorts. Don’t fall for the white sock, loafer and shorts combo. That instantly transforms your look from laid back elegant to goofy. When wearing with trousers, opt for dark socks to dress them up, unless you’re wearing light linen pants. |
