To guarantee a prefect tan, prepare your skin for the summer by exfoliating before any sun exposure. Make sure to wear sunscreen protection of spf 30 as a minimum on the face and 15 on the body. Contrary to popular belief, the sunscreen does not prevent you from getting a tan; it only protects you against sunburn and future damage. Your face needs extra attention, as skipping sunscreen will lead to blemishes and blotches, discoloration and early wrinkles. Never apply oil on the face unless you want a fried effect and welcome skin aging. Wear sunglasses at all times to protect your eyes. Lather your skin with moisturizers and creams to help your tan last longer and keep it glowing. Aloe vera is an excellent moisturizer and hydrating agent.
Your hair needs extra attention as well as the chlorine in swimming pools and the constant exposure to the sun will leave it dry and brittle. Invest in a hair mask or oil for use on the beach and after swimming. Book a hair salon treatment once a month at least. Hair color will change as well and it will go lighter, some blonde streaks may turn copper, so choose your hair dyes carefully. Go for a natural color close to your own and apply root touch ups only every month. Styling your hair in the summer is easy without the use of hair dryers and strengtheners. For short hair, apply some hair gum or spray mousse for a messy out of bed look. Longer hair can be left loose with wavy curls by applying a curling mousse or pulled up in a pony tail or half do for a sexy beach look.
A straw hat is a stylish and practical way to protect your hair and face at the beach.
Hands and feet will go extra dry as well, so maintain a manicure and pedicure ritual and apply cuticle oils and foot creams every night. |
