Lanvin celebrates the Grand Opening of its Dubai Mall boutique
Lanvin, the oldest French couture house founded in 1889 by the legendary Jeanne Lanvin, celebrated the grand opening of its newest and largest boutique in the Middle East. In a cocktail event attended by over 200 of Dubai's most fashionable people, Lanvin showcased its dazzling Fall-Winter '09 collection in an in-store trunk show.
Located in Dubai Mall's Fashion Avenue - the region's fashion hotspot - this 220 square meter boutique houses the season's collection of formal and casual wear in a chic, luxurious and intimate environment. Launched in partnership with luxury retailer UAE Trading, this is Lanvin's second of two stand-alone boutiques in the UAE bringing for both men's and women's collection under one roof.
"We have proudly represented the brand in the UAE since the early 1970s and opening this exclusive boutique marks a new era of growth for Lanvin. The boutique is a delightful showcase of the current season's must-haves, designed to give shoppers a wonderful experience of the Lanvin world" remarked Jihad Hajjar, General Manager, UAE Trading.
Since the brand was revived in 2001 under the creative genius of designer Alber Elbaz, it has come to represent the epitome of exquisite elegance. This is reflected in the decor of the boutique which is the result of a successful collaboration with the designer and architects Jean-Christophe Poggioli and Pierre Beucler from Architecture & Associes.
An intriguing feature of the boutique is Alber's creative and ever-changing window display, replete with stage lighting, animated mannequins and playful props. On opening day the window was dressed in the "Box story" theme with mannequins falling out of strewn Lanvin boxes and mischievous black cats running amok. In addition to Dubai Mall, Lanvin is available at the exclusive boutique in Emirates Towers and in corners at Harvey Nichols, SAKS Fifth Avenue and at Rodeo Drive boutiques across the UAE. |

Color Palette for this season
This fall, make your color choices wisely by investing in the key colors for this season that match your own natural colors (skin tone, hair and eye color) and budget. What has color have to do with budget? Well, choosing neutral and monotone colors is a safe investment plan, which means these colors will be wearable seasons to come. Investing in designer wear in this color range is the investment buy. That does not mean you will have to look dull as you can always add less expensive items in pop colors to brighten up your look and put your style together.
The key colors this season range from the warm golden tones, such as the honey yellow (a deep orangey yellow), rust, rich warm brick reds, coffee (earthy tones of browns), warm olive (yellow green) and toasted oranges (dark, earthy orange) to the cool side of deep blue reds and crimson, silver, cool blues, charcoal gray and deep navy. In between you have the neutral color palette of classic shades of beige, white, black, navy, taupe and gray.
To bring an outfit to life, you have a wide choice of pop colors that will contrast against the darker fall colors and the neutrals, from the family of reds (true red, vibrant fuchsia, vivid rose), blues (bright sapphire blue, dusty purple) and yellows (golden topaz, warm onyx, sunshine yellow).
For a classic elegant look, match different tonalities from the same color in one outfit and add the pop color in an accessory such as a belt, bag or shoes. |
